Alright everyone, I just typed up an awesome narrative and my computer crashed - it's ten till midnight and I've gotta go to bed so you'll have to check out the results yourself - I'll just say this - 56.8 is a pretty good breaststroke split for a 'B' 400 medley relay. The 'A' relay? Well, I'll make you wait for that one . . . here are some quick its:
  • 200 Free Relay - 1:24.69 - 'B' cut though needs to be faster to get in, Bax starts with a 21.45, Zach 21.30, Fisher 21.43 and Bryce 20.43 despite riding the rope for the final fifteen.
  • 500 Free Relay - Pelka gets second 3/10 off Cramer. Don't worry though, we'll take the 4:40.6 and shave him next month in Houston. Alex was a 4:52, 8th, Chris 5:00.8
  • 200 IM - A 1-2 finish for the Red Men. Zach 1:54.6, Steve 1:54.8. Scott 8th in 2:00.8 lifetime bests all
  • 50 Free - Rip fuels his anger from being pulled off the 200 Free relay into his race and destroys the consol heat, 22.20. Bryce goes 21.44, 1/100 faster than this AM - that's good enough for 3rd. Bax pops a 21.24 - second fastest in school history (Edgar Vargas was a 21.23, Henry a 21.25) to TIE for the championship.
  • 400 Medley Relay - 'B' relay runs away with the 'B' heat - Ripley 56.3, Schranck 56.8 (FINALLY our backstroker outsplits our breaststroker), Pelka 53.4 and Fisher dips under the 48.0 mark for the first time, splitting 47.7, 9th fastest relay split in school history as was the relay. The 'A' Medley relay, well once again our breaststroker outsplit our backstroker - the good news - it took a 55.5! Bryce goes a 51.2 which can be faster. Bax comes home in a 46.67 - his previous best was a 48.10. 3:28.94 is a 'B' cut (not selectable yet) and the fastest one without the names Chapman or Somers in it.
Alright, big day tomorrow - we're going to cede points in the 200 free, but are looking good in the strokes and 400 IM. Also looking forward to seeing Jordan and a few other alums stop by!
