It's the best time of the year - NCAA Swimming Championships, basketball tournament, opening day - but just got word today that Carthage cracked the top-25 of the Winter Division III Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings. This is a ranking of all colleges across all sports teams.
When I first arrived at Carthage not much was made of the Directors' Standings. It was inferred that the standings were the domain of other schools and we were going to be the best of the CCIW. Well, we have turned into some of the best of the CCIW (Carthage won three of the six winter championships and four coach-of-the-year honors), but now we've cracked the top-25 in all sports.
