Thanks for your interest in Carthage College and our men's swimming program. With our new Koenitzer Aquatic Center, Hedberg Library, Claussen School for International Business and phenomenal new Oaks residence halls overlooking Lake Michigan, it is an amazing time to be a part of the Carthage community.
Don't take my word for it though. When I got here eight years ago, Carthage received just over 2,400 applications for our 600-person freshman class. Last year, however over 6,200 high school seniors applied for admission. Carthage is one of the most dynamic, most in-demand colleges around.
And I haven't even said a word about the swim team.
We've built a program that offers all of the advantages and resources of a Division I program with the educational advantages and opportunities that you can only find at a private liberal arts college. We compete against the best competition we can find - Division I, II, or III. We attract swimmers who are serious about challenging themselves in the pool and in the classroom and we've producing graduates who have gone onto own their own business, enter medical school or find jobs at places like Yahoo, Kiefer and Nike.
We constantly look for swimmers who would make a good FIT here. The chart will give you an idea of what we look for in swimmers' times.
Of course times are just one part of that FIT. Work-ethic, competitiveness, and sense-of-humor all play a role, as do academic and career interests.
So explore CarthageSwimming.com. Then, when you've had a chance to see some of the things Carthage can offer you, complete a recruit questionnaire. There's a great deal to Carthage Swimming and we're excited that you're here.

- The first column is the time needed to qualify for the 2008 NCAA Championships. Swimmers with these times are considered 'A' Recruits.
- The second column represents times typically needed to make the championship final of the CCIW Championships. Swimmers with these times are considered 'B' Recruits.
- The third column represents the times we look for in our incoming freshmen. It's also the guideline we use when inviting applicants in for our Fall Recruiting weekends.
