Go out and buy next week's Sports Illustrated - the sportsman of the year issue. Open it up and you'll see our own Stephen Schranck listed as one of the faces in the crowd. Its funny what that type of exposure can do for you. People still come up to me four years later and say, "I heard you on Car Talk..." But this, this is some nice recognition. Anyhow, this is what they say:

Stephen Schranck
ALTON, ILL. > Swimming
Schranck, a sophomore at Carthage College, won the 200-yard breaststroke in a pool-record time of 2:09.46, and also won the 400-yard individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle, at the Wabash College Invitational. In his fourth event, the 100-yard breaststroke, he finished second.

Funny thing - that week he didn't even win the CCIW or CollegeSwimming.com Swimmers-of-the-Week and at last week's TYR/CollegeSwimming.com Classic, he was about five seconds faster in the 200. We're not complaining though - just proud to see one of our own recognized. Way to go Steve!
