Yesterday, for the first time in Carthage history, freshman applications went over the 6,000 mark.
Last year marked the first time that the College had received more than 5,000 applications. Indeed, in the past six years, the number of students applying to Carthage has doubled.
Particularly in a time of global economic stress, it is gratifying to witness the high level of interest in Carthage by prospective students and their parents. In this recruitment cycle, there remain many unanswered questions. But we are going into the critical months this spring in a position of extraordinary strength.
Everyone associated with the College is part of this success. Together, you are making Carthage a place where many young people want to be. That is the best predictor of a bright future for us all.
